Visionaries Needed!

The Bluff below High Drive is a treasure. Over 500 acres of forest and spectacular views. More than 20 miles of trails that are enjoyed by hikers, runners and mountain bikers. If you care about this wonderful community resource, Friends of the Bluff needs your help!

Friends of the Bluff is a relatively new organization that works to protect and maintain the Bluff. We have no professional staff, but we’ve organized hikes with naturalists, planted trees, organized trail maintenance work parties, thinned trees to suppress fires, planted trees along Hangman Creek, treated invasive weeds and removed litter and dog waste.

We’ve recently negotiated a memorandum of agreement with the City of Spokane and received 501(c)3 status from the IRS, so we are ready to expand our efforts on behalf of the bluff.

To do so, Friends of the Bluff needs volunteers, donations, supporters and Board members. Whether you are interested in trail maintenance, volunteer outreach, funding, improving community access to the trail system, or long-term protection of the Bluff, we welcome your involvement. The Bluff is not entirely public property, so we could really use the help of some visionaries to make sure that it is protected in perpetuity.

Please reply to this email if you are interested in getting involved, and I will set up a time for you to talk to me or to one of our Board members.

Jim Wilson,

Friends of the Bluff Board President
